Modification of an Industrial Baking Oven: EPI Supports the Evolution of the Manufacture Jean Rédélé Site in Dieppe

As part of the arrival of a new electric model in the Manufacture Jean Rédélé range, the industrial site in Dieppe is evolving. EPI is supporting this transformation through a major project.

Our teams are carrying out the complete modification of a baking oven dedicated to vehicle sealing products. This project brings together several areas of industrial expertise.

EPI is working on industrial heating, ventilation, electrical systems and automation. From the design phase to commissioning, our teams are involved throughout the project.

A complete modification of the baking oven

The main objective is to adapt the oven to the new requirements of the baking process. This modification also aims to improve the operation and performance of the installation.

First, EPI is integrating a new heating unit with an airflow capacity of 20,000 m³/h. The unit is equipped with a 200 kW electric heating battery. Our team is also installing the equipment on a dedicated technical platform.

The internal air supply networks are also being redesigned. Our teams are carrying out a complete overhaul of these networks. They are also integrating the EPI KDJ HT high-efficiency nozzles.

The project also includes a complete retrofit of the electrical equipment and automation system. EPI is installing a new electrical cabinet and a new PLC. These systems will improve the control and performance of the baking process.

Several areas of expertise on one project

Modifying an existing industrial installation requires precise coordination. Several teams and areas of expertise are therefore involved throughout the project.

In Dieppe, EPI teams are working on the supply and return air systems. They are also working on the heating unit and air distribution networks.

Electrical and automation work is also part of the project. This comprehensive approach ensures consistency between all the equipment and systems.

Project progress

The work is currently progressing at the Dieppe site. Several key stages have already been completed.

The teams have carried out:

  • Assembly of the cooler supply and return air system on the rooftop technical platform;
  • Installation of the new heating unit and fan;
  • Installation of the supply and return air networks and ductwork inside the oven;
  • Installation of the branch connections inside the tunnel;
  • Completion of the air supply connections;
  • Installation and connection of the door sensors at the oven inlet and outlet;
  • Connection of the new electrical cabinet and cable installation;
  • Installation and configuration of the new PLC;
  • Connection of the burner control cabinets;
  • Completion of the various electrical and automation works.

These operations now allow the project to move towards the commissioning phase.

Next steps: commissioning and testing

The project is continuing with several technical operations. The teams will carry out the commissioning and various tests of the installation.

They will also continue the piping work. A first heating test will then complete this phase.

This stage will allow the teams to check the operation of the equipment. They will also verify the various parameters of the baking process.

Finally, these tests will ensure that the entire installation operates correctly before being put into operation.

An industrial project at the heart of EPI’s expertise

This project in Dieppe demonstrates EPI’s ability to support the evolution of industrial installations.

With expertise in industrial heating, ventilation, electrical systems and automation, EPI supports every stage of the project. This comprehensive approach allows us to meet the specific requirements of industrial sites and their evolving processes.
